Maine AITC Teacher wins National Award

Lynn Snow

Lynn Snow from Thomaston Grammar School, 2019 MAITC Teacher of the Year, was one of eight teachers nationally awarded the 2020 National Agriculture in the Classroom Excellence in Teaching about Agriculture Award.

Each year, MAITC recognizes an outstanding Maine elementary or secondary school teacher who uses agricultural education materials and/or activities in the classroom to teach core subjects. The winning teacher will attend the National AITC Conference which will be held in Des Moines, Iowa on June 28 – July 1, 2021.


2020 MAITC Teacher of the Year

Ted Bridge-Koenigsberg

MAITC is thrilled to announce that Ted Bridge-Koenigsberg was named the 2020 MAITC Teacher of the Year! Using agriculture in Project Based Learning at Sebago Elementary for his grade 4 and 5 students has included food preservation and value added, fleece, waste management and other projects!

Agricultural Literacy Curriculum Matrix

The Agricultural Literacy Curriculum Matrix is an online, searchable, and standards-based curriculum map for K-12 teachers and contextualizes national education standards in science, social studies, and nutrition education with relevant instructional resources linked to Common Core Standards.
